- DUBAI - UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Kurt has officially submitted his application this week for a job controlling traffic at Dubai International Airport. He's eligible to retire in April of next year and has been considering this move for quite sometime. It would be a 3 year assignment and an opportunity for us to see a little bit more of the world. I guess if he's selected we'll have to do a lot of praying to make sure this is where we're meant to go. Dubai is supposedly the safest city in the world, considering it's location and proximity to Iraq and Iran. From everything I read, it's an amazing place to live right now. I just don't know if I can be so far from my kids and grandchildren. I guess we'll see what happens.....

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! I didn't realize he was so serious about it! That would be quite an adventure, but wow, it's far from home!

I thought you might be interested in checking out a blog of a guy we knew in Georgia who just spent two weeks in Dubai and India. Might give you some insights on what it is like there. His blog address is:
http://www.kydoninfo.blogspot.com. This sounds like it could be quite an adventure. I would hope the deal includes free air travel back and forth between the two countries!

Thanks Cindy! I just spent about 1 hour on your friend's blog. Very interesting information. I'll have to have Kurt read it.

So....have you started your blog yet? Can't wait for updates on your family too!

It should be happening some time this weekend. Now my grand daughter has returned home, and school starts on Monday, I am sure I will have things to talk about! I will send an email to let you know once I get it up and going.
