I woke up this morning to my cell phone ringing. It was the City of Manassas with a recorded message declaring a SNOW EMERGENCY. The message gave emergency exit routes, told which streets were off limits so snow removal equipment could do their thing, and told of school closures etc. I immediately went to my window, expecting to see huge drifts of snow. This is what I saw:
