- A STROLL DOWN MAIN STREET PLACERVILLE

Nothing exciting was playing at the theaters tonight, so Kurt and I decided to explore downtown Placerville. It's been awhile since we've taken the time to look in all the shops and see what's new on main street.

This is Placerville's famous bell tower.
You can read all about it at:

I have a story. I was 13 years old when we moved up here from L.A. I was completely devastated to be leaving my family and friends and the ward I loved. I cried so much before we left, that my mom refused to take me in the car with her during the move. I had to ride in the U-Haul with my dad :) I cried the entire way from Torrance to Placerville. It was June, so it was hot here in P'ville and we turned off at the first exit in town to get our realtor, who would take us to our new home. I gave the tears a rest, I Must have been dehydrated or something :) As we drove down Main Street, I looked up and saw that dummy hanging off the side of the Hangman's Tree Bar (your fourth picture) and the tears started again. "What are you doing to me?!?!?" I just knew there was no way my parents really loved me or they wouldn't be torturing me by making me live in a town that was proud of hanging people! And don't even get me started on our new home! THAT was enough to get my grandma crying too!
