Applesauce at the Cannery

Today Kurt and I went to the Sacramento Cannery to can applesauce. It was a lot of fun. We canned 48 cans of applesauce for ourselves and helped can extra for the Bishop's storehouse.

This is what we saw when we drove into the parking lot. Bins and bins of apples!

On the assembly line as thousands of apples pass by.

Georgette, our ward emergency preparedness specialist.

Lots of applesauce to put on our shelves. Can't wait to taste it!

The Last Load

After about 10 trips with our cars and truck, we delivered the last load of Tyler's worldly goods to his new home in Roseville tonight at 10 pm. We are so excited for him and can't wait to see how everything looks in his house. We're sure going to miss having him here, but know how excited he is to be a homeowner.

Sugar Cookie Heaven

Tonight Judy and I took a sugar cookie decorating class at Cake Stuff on Main Street here in Placerville. We learned how to use fondant to decorate our fall themed cookies. I've never been a fan of fondant, but we learned to make marshmallow fondant that was actually quite tasty. It was like playing with play dough, except you could eat your mistakes!

Our teacher Lisa. What a creative lady she is!

Some of the cookies I made! The chocolate fondant tasted like tootsie rolls.

Such a fun store. We actually came back the next day to buy some more cookie cutters!

My cookies before they disappeared. YUM!

Housewarming Gift

Our housewarming gift to Tyler was to have the carpeting in his new house cleaned. Luckily our son-in-law, Alax, has a new carpet cleaning business so we were able to give him some business. We are so impressed with the wonderful job he does. We've had him clean the carpet in our house and the upholstery on one of our couches. He does an amazing job!
The Grundy Carpet Care van.

The carpets looked like new when Alax was finished!

To check out Alax's new business, check out his blog.

Yes, Tyler will need to buy some furniture to fill the rooms in his house!
