Today we drove to SLC and met everyone for lunch at McDonald's on 3300 South 9th East. The kids love to run and play and we thought it would be a fun place for the cousins to get together. We didn't remember it was UEA and that everyone else might have the same idea. It was mayhem!!!

Vicki (my sis) and hubby Scott.

Angie and my mom
Me and my sister's grandkids. L to R - Kelsey and Jack (Angie's), Jazlyn and Jovanni (Stephanie's), Ava and Gage (Sean's), and Abbey (Angie's)

As soon as I arrived, Kelsey informed me that she wanted to give me a pedicure. I secretly hoped she'd forget. I have a serious aversion to having my feet touched. I am SOOOOO incredibly ticklish that NOBODY touches my feet. Well......she didn't forget. I walked upstairs today and she had everything set up in the kitchen. Angie gave me that "just do it" look and I made it through the process without hitting anyone ;)

She chose a lovely purple for the nail polish.

After a second coat of clear glitter, I was good to go.....

Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?

The funniest thing happened next. The phone rang and it was the graphic artist who will be designing Alyssa's wedding announcements. She said she had a photo shoot in 45 minutes but could meet with us if we came over "right now." I quickly slipped my boots on - no socks because we were in a hurry, and drove to her house. We walked up to the front door and that's when I read the sign - "Welcome to our shoeless home". I wanted to die! I walked in, removed my shoes, and very proudly modeled feet only a Grandma could love!

- Bon Voyage Party

Tonight was the Bon Voyage party for Michael Christensen. He leaves tomorrow for the MTC. He is one of my favorite people in the world. He will be missed - but watch out France! He's going to be ONE incredible missionary!

- BARRETT'S HAIR

Tonight was a VERY special occasion! Barrett cut his hair in preparation for his mission. He's been growing this hair for 3 years and had accumulated 30 inches of locks. A good sized crowd gathered at the Hamps to witness the event.

Ana measuring Barrett's hair.

Carrie got the honors of cutting off his pony-tail.

Wow! That's all - just wow!!!

Stylish new hair style for Barrett?

Arrrrgh! I did it!!!!!

3/4 inch around the sides and 1 inch on top. Quite a change!

The hair pile ;)

What a handsome young man!

Ta Da!!! The new Barrett!

Checking out his new look! I think he liked what he saw ;)

- BUSY SATURDAY

This morning I drove to Tracy to attend a bridal shower for Mandy Natali. She lived around the corner from us and was one of my girls when I was YW president. It was fun to see old friends and be back in Tracy for the day.

Kelsey Noll and Tammy Johnson

Jeanna Natali and Corinne (Pironne) Natali

Tammy Johnson and Robyn Stromberg

We played the purse scavenger hunt game - Mandy won the prize for the most unique item in her purse. Don't mess with this girl! (She's a pastry chef and takes her own knives to work).

A blushing Mandy ;)

I'm looking forward to Mandy's wedding in two weeks. I can't wait to meet her new husband-to-be!

After the shower, Alyssa and I went shopping for wedding dresses in Modesto. We weren't successful finding anything that was modest. I guess she'll join me next week when I go to Utah. Hopefully we'll be able to find something there!

We met the Grundy family at BJ's for dinner. This was the first time Kurt had met them and my first time meeting Alax's dad. What a nice family! We had a great time - and topped the evening off with a Pizookie Platter! YUM!!!!
