Oh Thank Heaven!

We're still in hog heaven having a 7-11 on almost every corner here in Virginia. We had to drive almost 25 miles for a Slurpee in California. Guess what we did after Family Home Evening tonight?

- FAMILY HOME EVENING WITH ALAX AND ALYSSA

Tonight Alyssa and Alax came over for Family Home Evening after I got home from work. We were all hungry so we went to In 'N Out Burger for dinner. I love this place and always order my burger "animal style". No Tyler, I didn't say "gorilla style." For those not familiar with In 'N Out's secret menu, check out this site - In 'N Out Secret Menu

After dinner we came home and watched a new DVD that I just bought. "Only a Stonecutter" is a short (14 minute) story about a man who served and sacrificed years of his life to work on the Salt Lake Temple. Powerful story!!

We made s'mores for dessert.

Alyssa is a good marshmallow toaster. Nice and golden brown is her motto.

Alax and I went for the flaming, blow-it-out-quick method.

Alyssa introduced me and Alax to the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup S'more. I was skeptical, but I honestly don't think I'll ever use those plain Hershey's bars again! Try it, you'll like it. I promise!

Before they went home, Alyssa and Alax got caught up on emails, Facebook and MySpace. I think they're going through internet withdrawals. They should be getting wireless next week.

- FAMILY HOME EVENING

Kurt works every Monday night, so we have FHE on Sunday night. Tonight was an exception. Alyssa and Alax came over and we went to dinner and then visited Alax's grandma.

Having a gourmet experience at Jack-in-the-Box.

Alyssa and Alax with his Grandma Helen. I met her 6 years ago when we first moved to Placerville and I was called as Relief Society President. Little did I know, that someday her grandson would be my son-in-law! She's such a sweet lady. She lives in the assisted living center across from our church.
