Years ago I got rid of all my Tupperware. The kids were
grown up and I was SO done with anything plastic and unbreakable!
Whenever I was invited to a Tupperware Party, I would tell the hostess that I
was "plum tuppered out." Flash forward to 2012.....who knew
that Tupperware had evolved??? I have a friend who loves to gift me with
Tupperware (her daughter-in-law sells it, so she's got the skinny on the
hottest items). Recently she gave me this Microwave Pasta Maker. I
was a little leery, but gave it a shot tonight. WOW! I can't tell
you how much I love this! I don't think I'll EVER make pasta in a pan
again. You measure, cook, drain, serve and store leftover pasta in the
same container. Perfect pasta! One small warning.....the price of
Tupperware has gone through the ceiling. I was shocked! This one,
however, is worth every penny! Thank you Fran!

GratiTuesday - Fix it Man
Anyone who
knows Kurt might be surprised to learn that, when we moved to Virginia, he
didn't bring any tools with him. Luckily I thought to bring along my
"girly" tool box. It's come in handy for doing minor repairs
around our apartment and for hanging pictures, etc. Needless to say,
whenever someone in the ward has a "fix-it" issue, Kurt JUMPS at the
chance to help out. As long as they have tools, he's ON IT!!! I'm
grateful that he is always so willing to help. This week was no
exception. A friend had a leaky toilet and he was there to help.
Little did we know, when we managed apartments early in our marriage, that he
would learn how to fix anything and everything. I don't recall EVER
having to hire a repairman for ANYTHING! I love my fix-it man!

GratiTuesday - TOEtally Relieved!
Little
did I know, when I started running, that it's not uncommon to lose a toenail or
two when you run a half or full marathon. I
lost one when I ran The Disneyland Half Marathon in 2007. I knew, as soon as I
crossed the finish line at the Sun Trust Richmond Marathon in November, that
I'd lose another one.
Sure enough. My
big toenail finally came off this week, almost 3 months after I injured it. Is this the ugliest
thing you've ever seen?
SOOOOO thankful I don't have to wear a bandaid around my toe anymore!

GratiTuesday - It's About Time!
The calendar says January, but the
Spring-like weather screams April! A few weeks ago the cherry
blossoms started to bloom on the trees outside our apartment! Crazy
weather! I was beginning to think that winter wasn't going to happen
this year. Well, yesterday we finally had some snow! I went
grocery shopping in a t-shirt and flip-flops. Temperatures were in the
50's. When I came out of the store, about 45 minutes later, the
temperature had dropped to below freezing and it was snowing! It snowed
all afternoon. I don't know how to dress anymore. I guess I'll just
continue to layer. It's supposed to feel Springy again tomorrow.

GratiTuesday - A Year of Gratitude
I read this book last year and LOVED it. One of my goals this year is to express gratitude more often, both to my Heavenly Father for my many blessings and also to my friends and family for all of the wonderful things they do and what they mean to me. While I would love to make this a daily habit, I know myself better than that. I'll just do my best to write more thank you notes this year.
