If The Shoe Fits.....

Today I went shopping with my friend Judy. We made our way through Kohl's, Ross, and Michaels. We had fun trying on crazy shoes. Judy bought 4 pair. I bought 1. No worries, we didn't buy any of the shoes pictured above! ;-) We had lunch at La Bou, great conversation, and LOTS of fun!

Disneyland?

We found the most amazing grocery store. It's real name is Wegmans, but we call it Disneyland. It is quite an adventure. Great prices on regular groceries and then TONS of specialty items that make my mouth water. The deli is wonderful and we often just eat dinner there. Love this store!

Tara's Visit - Day 2

This morning, the parking lot at Vienna/Fairfax Metro was full (darn those Cherry Blossom tourists ;-), so we decided to drive to the West Falls Church station. Kurt has the GPS with him in Florida, so we were winging it. I missed my turn and as we were trying to figure out how to get back on the beltway, we saw the Tyson's Corner Mall. We both looked at each other and smiled. Guess where we spent the day? As it turned out, it was a good choice. It was a miserable, rainy day - the perfect day to be inside....shopping....eating pizza.....shopping.....

Quarter for a Cart

My new favorite place to shop for groceries is Aldi, a no frills discount store that sells basic staples. I first heard about Aldi on the Clark Howard radio show. He RAVED about it. I wasn't able to find an Aldi on the west coast, but they're all over here in the east. The prices are the best I've seen, and while I haven't found anything I didn't love, I haven't always found everything I needed. Therefore, I shop first at Aldi and then get what I can't find there at
other grocery stores. It's quite an adventure shopping at Aldi - no name brands, no credit cards accepted, no shopping bags available (you bring your own), and the most surprising thing was that you pay 25 cents for the use of a shopping cart! You get your quarter back when you return the cart though. Funny thing is, there are NO shopping carts sitting around in the parking lot. Imagine that! I LOVE Aldi!

My Find of the Day!

Once a week I take a friend from church to her dialysis appointment and then pick her up 5 hours later. Most days I go home in between, but some days I go exploring. This is one of my favorite finds on my 5 hour adventures. One of the first stores I looked for when moving to Manassas was Target. I absolutely LOVE Target. I found a nice Target store about 5 miles from my apartment. I love walking around in that store. I can wander for hours. Sometimes I don't buy a thing, I just love looking at the books, clothes, shoes, home decor, jewelry, etc. etc. Anyway, while on my waiting adventure today I found ANOTHER Target store in Manassas! And this one is a SUPER Target!!!! I spent my entire waiting time there today! I found great deals and got some great exercise walking and walking and walking. I'll probably need to limit my visits to Super Target to once a month. This store is dangerous! ;-)

- SHOPPING ADVENTURE

Today I went shopping with Alyssa's future mother-in-law, Pam. We were looking for our dresses for the wedding. We had such a fun time! We left at 9:00 this morning and drove to Roseville. We didn't find anything there so we had lunch (that always makes everything better). She introduced me to Yakisoba at a Japanese Restaurant that she and Dean love. We ended up driving back to Folsom where we finally found what we were looking for (actually, we had NO idea what we were looking for ;) at about 5:00 p.m. Long day, but it was fun hanging out together. We were a little punchy by the end of the day - see photo ;) My feet hurt - I wore the wrong shoes today!
